About the Doctor

IMG_1710Dr. Jennifer L. Kelly graduated from Michigan State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology.  Dr. Jen then went on to attend National University of Health Sciences where she obtained her 2nd Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology and her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2007. Since Graduation, Dr. Jen has continued to further her education in kinesiology, clinical nutrition, women’s health, pregnancy, and pediatrics.  She is a member of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors, the American Chiropractic Association, and the National University of Health Sciences Alumni Association.  Dr. Jen’s mission is to provide personalized, quality chiropractic care to help those with injuries, restore normal joint mobility, improve quality of life, and promote better health. After suffering from sports-related injuries and neck pain, she wanted to be able to help others in similar situations without the use of medicine or surgery.

Dr. Jen is also one of few chiropractors in the area that uses muscle testing (kinesiology) to determine areas of joint dysfunction. Dr. George Goodheart of Detroit, Michigan, found that evaluation of normal and abnormal body function could be accomplished by using muscle tests.  Muscle tests are applied to different areas of the body in a manner that evaluates a specific muscle.  You will note from your examination that some muscles test strong and others appear extremely weak, perhaps the same muscle functions well on one side and poorly on the other side of the body.  This helps Dr. Jen find the areas that need to be adjusted and if correction is successful, there will be a remarkable improvement in the muscle test.
Dr. Jen is knowledgeable in Webster’s Technique. The Webster Technique is defined as a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nerve system and facilitates biomechanical balance in pelvic structures, muscles and ligaments. This has been shown to reduce the effects of intrauterine constraint, allowing the baby to get into the best possible position for birth. In expectant mothers presenting breech, there has been a high reported success rate of the baby turning to the normal vertex position.
